Sublime defined an era with their fusion of punk, ska, reggae, and hip-hop—selling over 20 million records worldwide and inspiring generations of artists. Today, Sublime is re-energized: Eric Wilson (founding bassist), Bud Gaugh (original drummer), and Jakob Nowell (son of late frontman Bradley Nowell) carry forward the band’s legacy with authenticity, vision, and new creative fire.
After Jakob Nowell’s history-making debut as Sublime’s new frontman at Coachella 2024, he and his uncles Bud Gaugh and Eric Wilson carried the momentum through more than 20 festivals and shows across North America. Highlights included their late-night television debut on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, a 4-song set on The Howard Stern Show, and their first Top 5 Alternative radio hit since 1997 with “Feel Like That”, featuring the vocals of both Bradley and Jakob Nowell.
Building on that success, 2025 is already shaping up as Sublime’s busiest year yet, with headlining shows and major festival appearances at Bottlerock, Boston Calling, Beachlife, Welcome to Rockville, Sea Hear Now, and Shakey Knees. The band also launched their first original release in nearly three decades, the single “Ensenada.” The song is quickly becoming a breakthrough moment, reaching  #1 on the alternative radio airplay charts. “Ensenada” blends wit, absurdism, and raw emotion, embodying the spirit of Sublime’s classic sound while pushing into bold new territory.
With a multi-platinum catalog anchored by timeless hits like “Santeria,” “What I Got,” and “Wrong Way”, Sublime’s influence endures across radio, streaming, film/TV, and sync. The band has amassed billions of streams, sustained double-digit growth in audience engagement, and continues to command amphitheater-level draws. Their music also continues to reach new audiences through placements in The Simpsons, Fortnite Festival, and national brand campaigns.
More than three decades after their formation, Sublime remains one of the most recognizable and influential American bands. With Jakob Nowell stepping confidently into his father’s role alongside Wilson and Gaugh, the band is honoring its legacy while writing a powerful new chapter.
